Get Rammed 2 CANCELLED
Posted on April 22, 2012First of all, Fur The Record wants to apologize for the delay and the short notice. We know you have all been waiting very patiently for the announcement. "Get Horny, Get Rammed" was originally going to be thrown as a public Fur The Record event for all Aries and Taurus birthdays. Unfortunately, this is not going to be able to happen. We had high hopes for a few different venues, but have all fallen through. Back in February we had a venue lined up that would have accommodated us perfectly. However, shortly before we were prepared to announce the event back in March, just to ensure everything went smoothly we were forthright with the venue and stating that this was a predominantly gay community. We got a "Oh well you need to talk to this other guy who does bookings for the club." and then a quick line of "Oh we have a band in here that night and we're going to make more money than you'll bring in." Needless to say it is our assumption that the venue simply did not want a predominantly gay crowd. I for one would much prefer to have lost this venue than to encounter issues AT the event based on our clientele. We looked at no less than 7 other venues and those that were available either weren't big enough, were too expensive, or they just felt too rushed to enter into an event that they had no rapport with the event planners. Posted on April 09, 2012Further Confusion 2012Jan 12-16, 2012After the smashing success of the FtR Retro Battle at RainFurrest, the FtR djs brought it back again at Further Confusion with 10 djs rocking out together. Fur The Record also showed their ability and aspiration to be an inclusive entity giving every DJ who applied to play, a timeslot at one of the most sought after conventions to play at. With 31 djs packed into the span of the convention, Fur the Record's programming provided a little something for everyone and gave opportunity to everyone who wanted to play. More
RainFurrest 2011 Dances
Posted on April 03, 2012Fur the Record returned as the hosts for the RainFurrest dances this year (having done so in 2010 as well prior to the organization of FtR as an entity) with an dillema. RainFurrest, as an organization, wanted to ensure there was a period of time during the dances that appealed to an audience other than those furs who are fans of electronic music. Fur The Record put out a call in our DJ applications looking for djs to play more main stream music; pop, rock, retro, etc. But not a single dj applied for any of these genres. So the Fur The Record djs decided to each grab a handful of their favorite songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s, all get up on stage and see what happened. What happened was a smashing success. Friday night saw 7 djs on stage , and a 3 hour block of nothing but chart topping hits from over 3 decades, Fur the Record led one of the largest and most interactive dance events that furry conventions have ever seen. Fur the Record: Off the Chain!
Posted on April 02, 2012Originally scheduled as a pre-party the day before RainFurrest, this event was moved up to August 6th as the venue we wanted to use was closing permanently at the end of August. It is with a somber heart we bid goodbye to Club Motor, one of Seattle's most hospitible clubs for all communities. We are pleased to have been able to share this venue with our furry friends one time before it closed.With around 140 furs in attendance, and DJs TekFox & Recca headlining from out of state, Fur the Record was let off its chain, and the club that night was completely...
